Tech giant Apple introduced iPhone 14 series with 4 different versions last week. Pro models overshadowed the standard models in terms of design and performance. iPhone 14 Plus targeting users who prefer large screen also stands out battery power.
iPhone 14 Plus may out of the class with low order numbers
On September 9, Apple opened new smartphone models for pre-order in most regions. As time passed, information about the orders of iPhone 14 models began to come. According to Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the number of orders for the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus was much lower than expected.
Kuo stated that Apple has increased the difference between the Pro and standard models. In addition, he states that this tactic of Apple does not work for now. On the other hand, iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max models have performed better than their predecessors.
The US manufacturer may increase its production numbers for iPhone 14 Pro models according to the increasing demand. Also, it has been talked about that Apple may reduce its orders for the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus.
Kuo said the pre-orders for the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus worse than the third-generation iPhone SE and iPhone 13 mini. Apple stopped orders for these two phone models in the first half of 2022 due to low demand.
If the demand for the two standard models does not increase, Apple may apply a different strategy. As of November, the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus may cancel their orders. Stating that the pre-order results were unsuccessful, especially for the iPhone 14 Plus, Kuo said Apple’s segmentation strategy was unsuccessful.
Pro models, which make a difference in terms of both design and performance, seem to attract more attention than standard models. So what do you think about Apple’s model strategy? Please share with us in the comments!
